Human Malate dehydrogenase, cytoplasmic (MDH1) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human malate dehydrogenase, cytoplasmic (MDH1). The assay is reactive with human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant human MDH1.

The kit uses a colorimetric detection method with a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.084ng/mL. MDH1 is a cytoplasmic homodimer of approximately 36kDa that catalyzes the reversible NAD/NADH-dependent oxidation of malate to oxaloacetate, contributing to the citric acid cycle and the malate-aspartate shuttle that coordinates cytosolic and mitochondrial metabolism. Dysregulation of MDH1 has been linked to cancer, metabolic disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions, making it a useful biomarker for related research.
