Human Macrosialin (CD68) ELISA Kit

CD68, also known as macrosialin or Gp110, is a 110-kD transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the LAMP family. It serves as a marker for mature macrophages and is involved in phagocytic activity, intracellular lysosomal metabolism, and cell-cell or cell-pathogen interactions. Elevated CD68 levels have been associated with atherosclerosis, arthritis and Alzheimer's disease, making it a useful biomarker for studies of macrophage activation and inflammation. The target maps to UniProt P34810 and is localised to endosome and lysosome membranes.
