Description

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of human Macrophage colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R), also referred to as CSF-1 receptor, Proto-oncogene c-Fms, CSF-1-R, CD115, and FMS. The assay is reactive with human samples and is intended for research use only.

Performance characteristics from the manufacturer include a detection range of 31.2-2000 pg/mL, a sensitivity of 15.75 pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 7.9%, and an inter-assay CV of 9.2%. The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant human CSF1R. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. Recovery has been reported at an average of 86% (range 80-92%) for serum and 88% (range 82-94%) for plasma.

CSF1R (UniProt P07333) is a tyrosine-protein kinase that acts as a cell-surface receptor for CSF1 and IL34, regulating survival, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells, especially mononuclear phagocytes such as macrophages and monocytes. Dysregulation of CSF1R signalling has been implicated in cancer, inflammatory disorders, and autoimmune diseases, supporting its relevance to the immunology research area. The protein localises to the cell membrane as a single-pass type I membrane protein.
