The Assay Genie Human M6PR ELISA Kit is a research-use-only immunoassay supplied in a microplate format for in vitro quantification of the cation-dependent mannose-6-phosphate receptor in human samples. Cation-dependent M6PR is a 46 kDa type I transmembrane lectin that traffics between the trans-Golgi network and endosomes, recognizing mannose-6-phosphate residues on newly synthesized acid hydrolases and routing them to the lysosome. Its expression level is of interest in studies of I-cell disease, glycosylation disorders, and the cellular uptake of recombinant enzymes used in enzyme replacement therapy for Pompe and Gaucher disease. The kit provides a pre-coated plate, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, standards, and wash buffer sufficient for 96 individual reactions. Reconstituted standards and antibody vials should be aliquoted and stored frozen below -20°C to preserve binding activity; the unopened kit components are shipped refrigerated on wet ice. Researchers investigating intracellular sorting, lysosomal biogenesis, or biomarker screening for storage disorders can integrate this M6PR ELISA alongside gene expression profiling and lysosomal activity assays.
