Description

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the sensitive and accurate detection of human lysozyme (LZM) levels in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. Using a colorimetric method, the kit is intended for research applications exploring the role of lysozyme — an enzyme involved in breaking down bacterial cell walls and implicated in immune function, wound healing, digestion, and conditions including inflammatory diseases, infections, and certain cancers.

The kit delivers a sensitivity of 0.75 ng/mL with a detection range of 1.25–80 ng/mL and a reported recovery of 80%–120%. The total assay time is 3 h 30 min and the recommended sample volume is 100 μL. Specificity has been verified in human samples, with no significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human LZM and analogues observed. The kit is for human reactivity and is stored at 2–8℃. The associated UniProt ID is P61626, and the relevant research areas include Cancer, Cardiovascular, Immunology, Tags and Cell Markers, and Cell Biology.

Assays follow the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The microplate is pre-coated with an antibody specific to the target. Standards or samples are added and bind to the immobilised antibody, followed by a biotinylated detection antibody and an Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate. After washing, a substrate solution is added; wells containing target produce a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution. Optical density is measured at 450 nm ± 2 nm and is proportional to target concentration as determined against a standard curve.
