Human Lysyl oxidase homolog 1 (LOXL1) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie supplies this sandwich ELISA for the quantitative measurement of human Lysyl oxidase homolog 1 (LOXL1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is built around a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific to the target, followed by a biotin-conjugated detection antibody and avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP). The enzymatic reaction with the substrate 3,3′,5,5′-Tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) is terminated with a sulfuric acid solution, and the optical density is read at 450 nm ± 2 nm on a microplate reader.

According to the manufacturer, the reported detection range is 15.6–1000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 10 pg/mL. Reported precision figures include an intra-assay CV of 4.2% and an inter-assay CV of 8.8%. Spike-and-recovery data are provided for serum (average 88%, range 82–94%) and plasma (average 90%, range 84–96%). Linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions is given for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. The kit specifically detects natural and recombinant human LOXL1 and is supplied with a Bradford Reagent for total protein normalisation.

LOXL1 is a secreted extracellular enzyme (UniProt Q08397, ~63 kDa) belonging to the lysyl oxidase family and is active on elastin and collagen substrates, catalysing crosslink formation in the extracellular matrix. The kit is intended for research use only in cell biology applications.
