Lysozyme (LZM), also called muramidase, is a cationic antimicrobial enzyme of the innate immune system that hydrolyzes the β-1,4-glycosidic bond in bacterial peptidoglycan. The quantitative immunoassay supplied by Assay Genie enables sensitive, reproducible measurement of endogenous human LZM concentrations across a standard curve range of 0.78–50 ng/mL to support research into mucosal immunity, neutrophil biology, and antimicrobial peptide function.

The kit is configured for in vitro research applications investigating inflammatory disease biomarkers, monocyte and macrophage activation, sepsis, oral and ocular health, breast milk immunology, and renal tubular injury, where elevated urinary or serum lysozyme levels provide informative readouts of immune status.

Each package includes a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin conjugate, wash buffer concentrate, chromogenic substrate solution, and stop reagent. Reconstituted standards should be refrigerated at 4°C with the chromogen protected from light, and freeze-thaw cycles of working reagents should be minimized to preserve activity.
