Description

From Assay Genie, this high-quality sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the accurate quantification of human lysosomal alpha-glucosidase (GAA), an enzyme also known as acid maltase or aglucosidase alfa. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for research use only, supporting studies of glycogen storage disorders such as Pompe disease.

GAA is essential for the degradation of glycogen to glucose in lysosomes, and deficiency of this enzyme is the underlying cause of glycogen storage disease type 2 (Pompe disease). The assay is reactive with human samples and validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It detects both natural and recombinant human lysosomal alpha-glucosidase with a sensitivity of 0.98 ng/mL across a detection range of 3.12–200 ng/mL. The kit is associated with UniProt entry P10253 and is suited to metabolism research.

Performance characteristics include an intra-assay CV of 4.3% and an inter-assay CV of 7.5%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across serial dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16). Recovery is 97% on average (range 91–103%) for serum and 99% on average (range 93–105%) for plasma.
