Human Lysophospholipid acyltransferase 5 (LPCAT3) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie for the accurate quantification of human Lysophospholipid acyltransferase 5 (LPCAT3), an essential enzyme in the biosynthesis of phosphatidylcholine and a major contributor to LPCAT activity in the liver. LPCAT3 also mediates the conversion of lysophosphatidylserine into phosphatidylserine and shows weak lysophosphatidylethanolamine acyltransferase activity, favouring polyunsaturated fatty acyl-CoAs as acyl donors over saturated ones.

The assay is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant human LPCAT3. The reported detection range is 0.156–10 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.5% and inter-assay CV is 8.2%.

Linearity spans 101–110% to 103–113% in serum, 108–118% to 92–102% in EDTA plasma, and 108–119% to 101–111% in heparin plasma across serial dilutions. Recovery averages 97% (range 91–103%) in serum and 99% (range 93–105%) in plasma. LPCAT3 is a multi-pass membrane protein localised to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and belongs to the membrane-bound acyltransferase family. The kit is stored at -20°C and shipped at +4°C.
