Human Lymphocyte Function Associated Antigen 1 Alpha (LFA1a) ELISA Kit

The LFA-1 alpha subunit, also known as CD11a, pairs with the CD18 beta chain to form the beta-2 integrin LFA-1, a heterodimeric adhesion receptor expressed broadly on leukocytes. This integrin engages ICAM-1 and related immunoglobulin-family ligands to mediate leukocyte arrest on vascular endothelium, transendothelial migration, formation of the immunological synapse between T lymphocytes and antigen-presenting cells, and target-cell killing by cytotoxic T cells and natural killer lymphocytes. Altered LFA-1 alpha activity has been linked to autoimmunity, transplant rejection, leukocyte adhesion deficiency, and several hematologic malignancies, which makes quantitative tracking of the subunit valuable for both basic and translational immunology work.
