Human Lumican (LUM) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie as a sandwich ELISA for the quantitative detection of human Lumican (LUM), this colorimetric kit is intended for the measurement of lumican in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Lumican is a member of the small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) family and the major keratan sulfate proteoglycan of the cornea, also distributed throughout interstitial collagenous matrices of the body. It is implicated in the regulation of collagen fibril organisation, corneal transparency, and epithelial cell migration and tissue repair, and its dysregulation has been linked to corneal dystrophies, cancer and fibrosis. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Lumican (UniProt P51884), a secreted protein that binds laminin and localises to the extracellular space and extracellular matrix.

The assay reports a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 5.8% and an inter-assay CV of 6.5%. Linearity has been validated across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Recovery in serum averages 103% (range 97-109%) and in plasma 105% (range 99-111%).
