Human LPO/Lactoperoxidase ELISA Kit

Manufactured as a sandwich ELISA for the quantitative measurement of human lactoperoxidase, this Assay Genie kit is suited to research applications investigating LPO as a biomarker. The assay accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, and detects both natural and recombinant forms of the enzyme. Performance specifications include a detection range of 0.78–50 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.34 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.7% and an inter-assay CV of 6.3%.

Lactoperoxidase is a secreted oxidoreductase (EC 1.11.1.7), also known as salivary peroxidase or SPO, encoded by the LPO gene located at chromosomal position 17q23.1 (UniProt P22079). Functionally, it acts as an antimicrobial agent that uses hydrogen peroxide and thiocyanate to generate hypothiocyanous acid, contributing to airway host defence against infection.
