The Assay Genie LPIN1 ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of Phosphatidate phosphatase LPIN1 in human-derived research specimens. LPIN1, alternatively termed Lipin-1, is a magnesium-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of phosphatidic acid to diacylglycerol, completing the penultimate step in triglyceride biosynthesis. The protein serves essential roles in adipocyte differentiation, hepatic lipid handling, and the regulation of mitochondrial respiratory capacity in oxidative skeletal muscle fibers.

Researchers investigating metabolic disorders and lipid homeostasis use LPIN1 quantification to probe mechanisms underlying lipodystrophy, myopathy, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and insulin resistance. The kit is supplied for 96 Assays per plate and is intended for research use only in laboratory settings. Each kit ships with the reagents, standards, and buffers required to perform the procedure. Standard laboratory equipment, including a microplate reader capable of absorbance measurement along with calibrated pipettes, is required to complete the workflow.

Investigators should follow the enclosed protocol for sample preparation and reagent handling. Storage conditions should be observed to preserve reagent integrity across the shelf life of the components, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles of reconstituted reagents should be avoided.
