The Lysyl Oxidase Like 2 (LOXL2) protein is a copper-dependent amine oxidase that catalyzes oxidative deamination of peptidyl lysine residues, driving crosslinking of collagen and elastin within the extracellular matrix. Dysregulated LOXL2 activity is a documented feature of fibrotic disease and of the tumor microenvironment, where the enzyme contributes to epithelial-mesenchymal transition, basement membrane remodeling, and metastatic progression in hepatocellular, breast, lung, and colorectal cancer models.

This Human LOXL2 PharmaGenie ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is configured as a quantitative immunoassay for measuring native LOXL2 in human Cell Culture Supernatants, Plasma, and Serum. Investigators working on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, hepatic stellate cell activation, cardiac remodeling after myocardial injury, and tumor-stroma interactions use LOXL2 quantification in conditioned media and patient-derived samples to correlate enzyme levels with disease stage, treatment response, and markers of extracellular matrix turnover.

Each kit provides reagents sufficient for 96 individual determinations, accommodating both small pilot studies and larger cohort screens. The assay is intended for research use only, validated specifically for the human LOXL2 isoform. A standard curve is generated from a recombinant human LOXL2 calibrator, allowing interpolation of unknown sample concentrations across the working range of the assay.

Colorimetric readout is performed on a standard microplate absorbance reader, and the kit integrates into standard laboratory workflows with overnight sample incubation. Unopened components should be stored refrigerated, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles of prepared samples should be avoided to preserve analyte integrity.
