Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the quantitative detection of human Lipoprotein lipase (LPL), also referred to as LIPD, in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The colorimetric assay is reactive with human samples and recognises both natural and recombinant human Lipoprotein lipase. The kit is for research use only and falls within the cardiovascular research area.

The assay reports a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL with a sensitivity of 7.8pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.3% and inter-assay CV is 7.9%. Spike-and-recovery testing returned an average of 98% in serum (range 92-104%) and 100% in plasma (range 94-106%); linearity data across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma are reported in the manufacturer's documentation.

Lipoprotein lipase functions as a triglyceride hydrolase responsible for the hydrolysis of triglycerides carried by circulating chylomicrons and very low density lipoproteins (VLDL), with binding to cell-surface heparin sulfate proteoglycans central to its activity, and the apolipoprotein APOC2 acting as a coactivator in the presence of lipids.
