Human Lipopolysaccharide-binding protein/LBP ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie provides quantitative measurement of human Lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP; UniProt P18428), an acute-phase protein involved in innate immune recognition of bacterial lipopolysaccharides. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection, employing a biotinylated detection antibody and HRP-conjugated streptavidin with TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

The kit is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a detection range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL. Linearity for serum across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions (n=5) is 86–94%, 85–96%, and 89–104% respectively; EDTA plasma shows 92–101%, 86–96%, and 83–98%; heparin plasma shows 80–93%, 84–97%, and 85–99%. Recovery averages 93% in serum (range 85–102%), 97% in EDTA plasma (86–104%), and 91% in heparin plasma (86–99%).

The microplate is pre-coated with a capture antibody specific to LBP. The protocol involves sequential incubation with samples, biotin-labelled detection antibody, and HRP-streptavidin, followed by TMB substrate development and absorbance measurement at 450 nm, with signal intensity proportional to LBP concentration as determined against a standard curve. Reagents should be stored at 2–8°C, with a stated shelf life of 12 months under these conditions.
