Human Lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP) ELISA Kit

A high-quality sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with human samples.

Performance specifications include a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.195ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.8% and inter-assay CV is 7.2%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions (102-112%, 100-109%, 107-116%, 90-99% respectively), in EDTA plasma (102-111%, 107-115%, 89-99%, 106-115%) and in heparin plasma (99-109%, 100-110%, 110-120%, 109-119%). Recovery averages 87% (range 81-93%) in serum and 89% (range 83-95%) in plasma. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human LBP.

LBP plays a role in the innate immune response by binding to the lipid A moiety of bacterial lipopolysaccharides and acting as an affinity enhancer for CD14, facilitating its association with LPS. Abnormal LBP levels have been associated with inflammatory conditions, sepsis and metabolic disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for research applications. For research use only.
