Human Lipocalin-1/LCN1 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Lipocalin-1 (LCN1), also known as tear lipocalin, tear prealbumin, or von Ebner gland protein. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection and is intended for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. Lipocalin-1 is a protein implicated in lipid metabolism, immune response, and inflammation, and has been associated with conditions such as kidney disease, cancer, and inflammatory disorders, making it a useful biomarker for signal transduction and related research.

According to the manufacturer's datasheet, the kit has a reported sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and an assay range of 0.781–50 ng/mL. Spiked recovery in serum (n=5) was 86–95% with an average of 91%, in EDTA plasma (n=5) was 85–104% averaging 90%, and in heparin plasma (n=5) was 85–99% averaging 93%. Linearity for serial dilutions at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 was 86–96%, 90–101%, and 91–105% in serum; 82–99%, 83–97%, and 82–96% in EDTA plasma; and 83–91%, 81–93%, and 83–100% in heparin plasma. Reagents are stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months, and absorbance is read at 450 nm following TMB substrate development.
