Monoacylglycerol lipase (MGL, encoded by MGLL) is a serine hydrolase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of monoglycerides into glycerol and free fatty acids, playing a central role in endocannabinoid signaling and lipid metabolism. Quantification of MGL protein levels in tissue homogenates is widely used in neuroscience, metabolic disease, and oncology research.
This Assay Genie kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, HRP conjugate, calibrator standards, and assay diluent sufficient for the stated number of determinations. The protocol uses a two-antibody immunoassay approach with absorbance read on a standard plate reader, and has been validated for the quantitative measurement of MGL in human, mouse, and rat tissue lysates.
Recommended storage is at 4°C for short-term use, with longer-term storage of individual components at -20°C to preserve reagent activity. Protect the HRP conjugate from light and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of reconstituted standards. For research use only, not for diagnostic procedures.
