Human Lipase, Bile Salt Dependent (BSDL) ELISA Kit

BSDL, the target quantified by this Assay Genie kit, is encoded by the CEL gene at chromosomal locus 9q34.13 and is secreted as a glycoprotein of approximately 100 kDa by pancreatic acinar cells and, in lactating women, by mammary epithelium. Loss-of-function variants in CEL are causally linked to maturity-onset diabetes of the young type 8 (MODY8) and to chronic pancreatitis, while elevated BSDL activity has been reported in cystic fibrosis patients and in breast-fed preterm neonates with fat malabsorption. According to the product documentation, the assay shows no significant cross-reactivity or interference between BSDL and analogues, with intra-assay CV below 10% and inter-assay CV below 12% across serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma matrices. Each 96-well plate is supplied with pre-bound capture antibody, lyophilized recombinant BSDL standard, biotinylated detection reagent, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, TMB substrate, stop solution, wash concentrate, and adhesive plate sealer. Reconstituted standard and detection antibody should be aliquoted into single-use vials and frozen at -20 degrees C to limit freeze-thaw cycles, while sealed unused strips remain stable at 2-8 degrees C for a 12-month shelf life printed on the kit box.
