Description

A sandwich ELISA developed by Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of human Legumain (LGMN), also known as asparaginyl endopeptidase. The kit is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and recognizes both natural and recombinant human Legumain. Detection is colorimetric, with a working range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.087 ng/mL.

Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.8% and an inter-assay CV of 7.2%. Linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions is given as: serum 109–119% / 104–113% / 107–118% / 113–122%; EDTA plasma 107–116% / 101–114% / 103–113% / 103–112%; heparin plasma 100–111% / 100–110% / 92–103% / 109–121%. Spike-and-recovery averages 85% (range 80–91%) for serum and 87% (range 81–93%) for plasma.

Legumain is a lysosomal cysteine protease (UniProt Q99538) with strict specificity for hydrolysis of asparaginyl bonds and a documented role in MHC class II antigen processing. Observed molecular weight is reported as 54 kDa, with calculated values of 42 kDa and 49 kDa. For research use only.
