Human Large Neutral Amino Acid Transporter 1 (LAT1) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie LAT1 immunoassay is built around the human Large Neutral Amino Acid Transporter 1, the SLC7A5 gene product that forms a disulfide-linked heterodimer with the 4F2hc accessory protein (SLC3A2/CD98) on the plasma membrane. Through that complex, LAT1 mediates sodium-independent uptake of large neutral amino acids, including leucine, isoleucine, valine, phenylalanine, tryptophan, tyrosine, histidine, and methionine, making it a focal point in studies of cancer metabolism, mTORC1 pathway activation, blood-brain barrier transport, and placental amino acid exchange.

Configured for in vitro research use, the kit ships as a 96 assays format and accepts tissue homogenates and cell lysates as starting material. Common applications include profiling LAT1 expression across tumor cell lines, characterizing transporter induction in primary cultures, and comparing levels in patient-derived tissue versus matched normal controls.
