Human Lanosterol synthase (LSS) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantification of lanosterol synthase (LSS) in human samples. The kit targets natural and recombinant human LSS and is suited to research applications in cardiovascular biology and the cholesterol biosynthesis pathway. Lanosterol synthase is a key enzyme that catalyzes the cyclization of (S)-2,3-oxidosqualene to lanosterol, a precursor in the sterol biosynthesis pathway, and is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane as a peripheral membrane protein.

Quantitative performance includes a detection range of 0.312–20 nmol/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 nmol/mL, with intra-assay CV of 4.9% and inter-assay CV of 8.9%. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, with linearity ranges reported for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across multiple dilutions. Recovery is reported at an average of 100% (94–106%) for serum and 102% (96–108%) for plasma.

Read-out is by colorimetric detection measured at 450 nm, and the target corresponds to UniProt entry P48449, with a reported molecular weight of 82,199 Da. The product is supplied for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic procedures.
