Description

Assay Genie offers a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of human Laminin subunit beta-4 (LAMB4), also referred to as Laminin beta-1-related protein. The assay is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with reactivity confirmed for human samples. Detection is performed by a colorimetric ELISA method, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a standard microplate reader.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the kit reports a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL. Precision is characterised by an intra-assay CV of 4.2% and an inter-assay CV of 8.6%. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, and spike-and-recovery is reported for serum (average 98%, range 92-104%) and plasma (average 100%, range 94-106%). Specificity is stated for natural and recombinant human Laminin subunit beta-4.

LAMB4 is a secreted glycoprotein of the laminin family, a basement membrane complex formed from alpha, beta and gamma chains linked by disulfide bonds. The protein contributes to cell adhesion, and laminin is thought to mediate attachment, migration and organisation of cells into tissues during embryonic development by interacting with other extracellular matrix components. The associated UniProt entry is A4D0S4, with the human ortholog mapping to chromosomal region 7q31.1. The kit is intended for research use only.
