Description

Assay Genie's sandwich ELISA kit enables quantitative measurement of human Laminin subunit beta-3 (LAMB3) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric detection method. LAMB3 is a beta subunit of laminin-5 (laminin-332, also known as epiligrin, kalinin or nicein) that contributes to basement membrane integrity, cell adhesion, migration, and tissue organization, and is also known by alternative names including Epiligrin subunit bata, Kalinin B1 chain, Kalinin subunit beta, Laminin B1k chain, Laminin-5 subunit beta, Nicein subunit beta, and LAMNB1.

The kit reports a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.22ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 5.2% and an inter-assay CV of 8.6%. Specificity is demonstrated against natural and recombinant human LAMB3 (UniProt Q13751). Linearity has been validated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across serial dilutions, with recovery averaging 96% in serum and 98% in plasma. The protein is secreted into the extracellular space and basement membrane, and dysregulation of LAMB3 has been linked to skin blistering disorders such as junctional epidermolysis bullosa (Herlitz and non-Herlitz types) and to amelogenesis imperfecta type IA.
