The Assay Genie Lamin B2 (LMNB2) ELISA is an in vitro quantitative immunoassay kit built around the nuclear intermediate filament protein LMNB2, a core structural component of the nuclear lamina that anchors chromatin and supports nuclear envelope integrity in differentiating and dividing cells. By measuring endogenous LMNB2 protein in cell lysates and tissue homogenates, the kit supports research into nuclear lamina remodeling, lipodystrophy-associated metabolic disorders linked to LMNB2 mutations, senescence-associated changes in nuclear architecture, and altered lamin expression patterns observed across tumor types.

Configured for human reactivity, each kit provides the reagents needed to perform 96 assays in a microplate workflow, with the capture and detection antibody pairs specific to the B-type lamin isoform. Researchers studying adipocyte differentiation, hepatocyte function, neuronal maturation, or cancer cell plasticity can use LMNB2 quantification as a readout for nuclear envelope integrity, while those probing cell-cycle progression can monitor lamin B2 levels as cells transition through mitosis, where B-type lamins remain largely retained compared to A-type lamins.

Because LMNB2 expression declines during replicative senescence and is dysregulated in progeroid models, this kit is also valuable for aging and DNA-damage-response research. Sample preparation from cultured mammalian cells or fresh and frozen tissue homogenized into lysis buffer is the starting point, with clarified lysates loaded directly into the pre-coated plate. The kit is intended for research use only and complements antibody-based workflows by providing a quantitative protein-level readout rather than relative band intensity from a western blot.
