Human Lactoylglutathione lyase (GLO1) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Lactoylglutathione lyase (GLO1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric detection method.

GLO1, also known as glyoxalase I, is a critical enzyme that detoxifies methylglyoxal, a reactive metabolite capable of causing cellular damage. Dysregulation of the enzyme has been implicated in diabetes, neurodegenerative disorders and cancer. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Lactoylglutathione lyase (UniProt Q04760), which functions as a homodimer that catalyzes the conversion of hemimercaptal—formed from methylglyoxal and glutathione—to S-lactoylglutathione, participates in the regulation of TNF-induced transcriptional activity of NF-kappa-B, and is required for normal osteoclastogenesis. The detection range is 78–5000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 32 pg/mL; intra-assay CV is 5.6% and inter-assay CV is 7.7%.
