The Assay Genie Human LDHB ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of Lactate Dehydrogenase B in human research samples using a microplate-based immunoassay workflow.
Lactate Dehydrogenase B (LDHB) is the H-subunit predominant isoform of the LDH tetramer, encoded on chromosome 12. It preferentially catalyzes the conversion of lactate to pyruvate under aerobic conditions and is abundantly expressed in cardiac and hepatic tissue. Elevated circulating LDHB has been reported in studies of hepatocellular injury, certain solid tumors (including lung and breast carcinomas), and metabolic disorders. Researchers commonly apply LDHB quantification to investigate tumor metabolism, the Warburg effect, tissue damage biomarkers, and exercise physiology.
Each kit contains a pre-coated microplate, capture and detection antibodies, recombinant standards, assay buffers, and substrate reagents sufficient for the indicated assay count. Reconstituted standards should be aliquoted to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and the kit components are intended for research use only, not for diagnostic procedures. The antibody pair is human-specific, with no significant cross-reactivity reported for the analogous LDHA isoform under standard assay conditions.
