Human Lactase (LCT) ELISA Kit

Lactase-phlorizin hydrolase, the brush-border enzyme encoded by the LCT locus on chromosome 2q21.3, is the target analyte of this ELISA from Assay Genie. The enzyme hydrolyses lactose into glucose and galactose in the small intestine, and progressively lower activity drives primary adult-type hypolactasia, the inherited loss of lactose digestion that affects a large share of the adult population worldwide.

The kit supports quantitative work in human samples and uses an antibody pair pre-coated onto a 96-assay plate, with absorbance-based detection on a standard microplate reader. Tissue homogenates are the principal specimen, and additional sample matrices compatible with the antibody pairs can be run on the same plate. Standards are supplied so a full calibration curve can be generated alongside unknown samples and replicates in a single run.

The workflow follows standard ELISA practice: add sample and standards to coated wells, incubate, wash, add the detection reagent, develop the reaction, and read absorbance. Each kit supplies all reagents needed to complete the full 96-assay run. The product is for research use only and is reactive with human samples.
