Description

Designed for the accurate detection of L-dopachrome tautomerase (DCT) in human samples, this sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is intended for research use only. The kit is reactive with human specimens and is suitable for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids, with detection achieved by colorimetric measurement at 450 nm.

L-dopachrome tautomerase is an enzyme that catalyses the conversion of L-dopachrome into 5,6-dihydroxyindole-2-carboxylic acid (DHICA) and is involved in regulating eumelanin and phaeomelanin levels. The enzyme plays a role in melanin biosynthesis and skin pigmentation, with research linking it to immune responses and inflammation. It is studied as a biomarker in skin diseases, autoimmune disorders, and cancer. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human L-dopachrome tautomerase (UniProt P40126).

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 3.9% and inter-assay CV is 7.0%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across a series of dilutions, with recovery values ranging from 80–94% depending on the sample matrix. Kit components are supplied with storage at -20°C and 4°C as indicated.
