Description

A colorimetric Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human L-asparaginase (ASRGL1), also referred to as Asparaginase-like protein 1, Beta-aspartyl-peptidase, Isoaspartyl dipeptidase, L-asparagine amidohydrolase, ALP, or CRASH. The enzyme plays a key role in asparagine catabolism, and the kit is intended for research use only with human samples.

Validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, the assay reports a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.39ng/mL. Precision is characterised by an intra-assay CV of 4.5% and an inter-assay CV of 8.0%. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions. Recovery averages 92% (range 86-98%) in serum and 94% (range 88-100%) in plasma. The antibody pair specifically recognises natural and recombinant human Isoaspartyl peptidase/L-asparaginase.

L-asparaginase (ASRGL1) possesses both L-asparaginase and beta-aspartyl peptidase activity and may be involved in the production of the excitatory neurotransmitter L-aspartate. Abnormal levels have been associated with diseases including leukemia and lymphoma, making it a biomarker of research interest in metabolism. The protein (UniProt: Q7L266) is a heterodimer of an alpha and beta chain produced by autocleavage and is located in the cytoplasm, including the midpiece of the sperm tail.
