Description

A sandwich ELISA developed by Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Kynurenine/alpha-aminoadipate aminotransferase, mitochondrial (AADAT). The kit is reactive with human analytes and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant human AADAT.

The assay provides a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/ml. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 5.8% and an inter-assay CV of 8.6%. Linearity has been characterised in serum (1:2 97–108%, 1:4 108–118%, 1:8 84–95%, 1:16 83–93%), EDTA plasma (90–100%, 109–119%, 95–107%, 104–114%) and heparin plasma (81–92%, 103–115%, 86–96%, 96–106%). Recovery averages 89% (range 83–95%) in serum and 91% (range 85–97%) in plasma.

AADAT is a mitochondrial transaminase with broad substrate specificity, active towards aminoadipate, kynurenine, methionine and glutamate, as well as tryptophan, aspartate and hydroxykynurenine, and accepting a range of oxo-acids with a preference for 2-oxoglutarate. The kit is intended for research use only in Cell Biology applications, with per-component storage conditions provided (UniProt Q8N5Z0).
