KMO is a mitochondrion outer membrane enzyme that catalyses the hydroxylation of L-kynurenine to form 3-hydroxy-L-kynurenine, a step required for synthesis of quinolinic acid. Dysregulation of KMO has been linked to neurodegenerative, inflammatory, and psychiatric disorders. For research use only.

The colorimetric assay has a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.4ng/mL. Reported precision values are Intra CV 6.9% and Inter CV 11.8%. The kit detects natural and recombinant human KMO and is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids.
