KLF14 is a C2H2-type zinc finger DNA-binding transcription factor located in the nucleus, with a reported molecular weight of 33,124 Da and UniProt accession Q8TD94. The encoded protein functions within a transcriptional co-repressor complex containing SIN3A and histone deacetylase 2, is induced by TGF-beta, and represses TGF-beta receptor II expression. The gene shows imprinted maternal-allele expression in embryonic and extra-embryonic tissues and maps to chromosomal location 7q32.2.
