Human Klotho (KL) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a Sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of human Klotho (KL) levels in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with human samples and uses a colorimetric detection method. It is described as a reliable and sensitive tool with high specificity and accuracy, intended for research applications including the study of age-related processes such as cardiovascular disorders, kidney disease, and cognitive decline.

Performance characteristics quoted by the manufacturer include a detection range of 7.8-500pg/mL and a sensitivity of 2.4pg/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.7% and an inter-assay CV of 7.1%. Linearity was validated across serial dilutions in serum (109-119%, 91-103%, 82-92%, 108-117%), EDTA plasma (99-107%, 88-98%, 106-115%, 96-106%) and heparin plasma (93-102%, 112-122%, 107-117%, 80-90%). Recovery averaged 103% in serum (range 97-109%) and 105% in plasma (range 99-111%). The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Klotho.

The Klotho peptide generated by cleavage of the membrane-bound isoform is described as an anti-aging circulating hormone that may extend life span by inhibiting insulin/IGF1 signaling. The product is for research use only.
