Human Kinesin heavy chain isoform 5A (KIF5A) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Kinesin heavy chain isoform 5A (KIF5A) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric readout and recognises both natural and recombinant human KIF5A. Reported protein synonyms include Kinesin heavy chain neuron-specific 1, Neuronal kinesin heavy chain, NKHC and NKHC1 (UniProt Q12840).

According to the manufacturer's specification, the standard curve spans 0.312–20 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.12 ng/mL. Precision is reported as 5.6% intra-assay CV and 7.9% inter-assay CV, with recovery of 100% (range 94–106%) in serum and 102% (range 96–108%) in plasma. KIF5A is a microtubule-dependent motor required for slow axonal transport of neurofilament proteins (NFH, NFM and NFL), and defects in KIF5A are the cause of autosomal dominant spastic paraplegia type 10 (SPG10).
