Human Kinase suppressor of Ras 1 (KSR1) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human Kinase suppressor of Ras 1 (KSR1), also referred to by the synonym KSR. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with human specimens. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity covers natural and recombinant human KSR1, and the kit is intended for research use only, with relevance to cancer research.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.19 ng/ml. Intra-assay CV is reported at 6.9% and inter-assay CV at 11.3%. Recovery has been validated in serum (average 103%, range 97–109%) and plasma (average 105%, range 99–111%). Linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions in serum (N=5), EDTA plasma (N=5) and heparin plasma (N=5). The observed ranges across these dilutions are 105–105%, 107–117%, 110–119% and 105–114% for serum; 87–96%, 110–120%, 91–102% and 103–114% for EDTA plasma; and 101–114%, 104–114%, 98–109% and 100–110% for heparin plasma.

KSR1 functions as a scaffolding protein within a multiprotein signaling complex, promoting phosphorylation of Raf family members and activation of downstream MAP kinases. It supports activation of MAPK1 and/or MAPK3 in response to both EGF and cAMP, although it does not possess kinase activity by itself. The protein is catalogued under UniProt entry Q8IVT5.
