Human Kidney Injury Molecule 1 (Kim1) ELISA Kit

A quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie intended to measure Kidney Injury Molecule 1 (KIM-1), the type I transmembrane glycoprotein also known as TIM-1 or HAVCR1, in research specimens. KIM-1 expression is normally absent from healthy kidney tissue but becomes sharply upregulated on the apical surface of injured proximal tubule epithelial cells and is shed into urine during tubular damage, supporting its use as a biomarker for acute kidney injury, drug-induced nephrotoxicity screening, and studies of chronic kidney disease progression.

This microplate-based kit provides 96 individual determinations per run and uses an absorbance read-out compatible with standard laboratory plate readers. It has been validated for use with urine, tissue homogenates, and cell culture supernatants, supporting nephrology research, toxicology panels, biomarker discovery workflows, and renal physiology investigations. Reconstituted standards and biotinylated detection reagent should be refrigerated and protected from light until use; prepared samples are held at standard immunoassay handling conditions.
