Human Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 8 (KRT8) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the precise measurement of human Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 8 (KRT8) levels in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is reactive with human samples and uses a sandwich format with a detection range of 0.156-10ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.087ng/mL.

KRT8 is a key component of the cytoskeleton, providing structural support to cells and playing a role in cell migration and signaling. Together with KRT19, KRT8 helps to link the contractile apparatus to dystrophin at the costameres of striated muscle. Abnormal KRT8 levels have been associated with cancer, liver diseases, and inflammatory conditions, supporting its value as a biomarker for studying disease mechanisms and exploring potential therapeutic interventions.

Reported performance includes an intra-assay CV of 6.9% and an inter-assay CV of 9.1%. Recovery in serum averages 92% (range 86-98%) and in plasma averages 94% (range 88-100%). The kit is intended for research use only.
