Human Keratin, type I cytoskeletal 16 (KRT16) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of human Keratin, type I cytoskeletal 16 (KRT16), also referred to as Cytokeratin-16, Keratin-16, CK-16, K16 or KRT16A. It is reactive with human samples and is intended for research use only.

The assay has a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL. Reported precision figures are an intra-assay CV of 5.3% and an inter-assay CV of 9.5%. The kit is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and detects natural and recombinant human KRT16.

KRT16 is an epidermis-specific type I keratin with a key role in skin, acting as a regulator of innate immunity in response to skin barrier breach and required for an inflammatory checkpoint of skin barrier maintenance. Abnormal expression has been linked to skin disorders such as psoriasis and skin cancer, supporting its use as a biomarker in research.
