Human Keratin 1 (KRT1) ELISA Kit

The Keratin 1 (KRT1) protein is a type II cytoskeletal keratin expressed in the suprabasal layers of stratified squamous epithelia, where it forms heterodimers with its type I partner KRT10 to build the intermediate filament network that maintains epidermal integrity. This Assay Genie ELISA kit supports quantitative measurement of human KRT1 in research samples, enabling studies of keratinization, cornification, and epithelial barrier function.

Dominant-negative mutations in the KRT1 gene are linked to epidermolytic hyperkeratosis (EHC) and several palmoplantar keratoderma variants, making quantitative KRT1 readouts useful for dermatology research, wound healing investigations, and squamous cell differentiation models. The kit is supplied in a 96-assay microplate format and includes pre-coated wells, a biotinylated detection antibody, recombinant human KRT1 standards, and TMB substrate sufficient for the full plate run.
