The Human KDSR ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of 3-ketodihydrosphingosine reductase, the endoplasmic reticulum-resident enzyme that catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of 3-ketodihydrosphingosine to sphinganine at the entry point of de novo ceramide biosynthesis. KDSR abundance is a relevant biomarker for studies of sphingolipid metabolism, keratinocyte differentiation, and inherited dermatological conditions such as erythrokeratoderma variabilis that have been mapped to loss-of-function variants in this gene.

The reagents are configured for absorbance-based readout on a standard microplate. Each kit contains a pre-coated capture plate, biotinylated detection reagent, calibrator series, and substrate solution sufficient for 96 individual determinations arranged in a strip-well layout, intended for in vitro research use only.

Sample preparation accepts clarified liquid specimens derived from whole blood.
