The Assay Genie human KAZALD1 immunoassay targets Kazal-type serine peptidase inhibitor domain 1, a secreted glycoprotein that carries an N-terminal IGFBP-like motif and a C-terminal Kazal-type serine protease inhibitor domain. Endogenous KAZALD1 is expressed in developing bone and a range of epithelial tissues, where it cooperates with BMP-2 to drive osteoblast differentiation, and altered levels have been linked to proliferation, migration, and invasion phenotypes in hepatocellular carcinoma, glioblastoma, and prostate cancer cell line models.

The microplate arrives pre-coated with a monoclonal capture antibody specific for human KAZALD1, accompanied by biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, TMB substrate, wash buffer, and a calibrated recombinant protein standard for building an eight-point curve on each plate. Investigators apply the kit to quantify KAZALD1 in cell culture supernatant, tissue homogenate, and human serum or plasma specimens drawn from patient cohorts; the assay is for research use only and is not cleared for diagnostic decision-making.
