Human Islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of Human Islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP) in samples including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with human samples.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.056ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 4.6% and an inter-assay CV of 7.4%. Linearity has been validated across serum (81-118% across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions), EDTA plasma (85-111%) and heparin plasma (82-114%). Recovery is 80-90% in serum and 80-92% in plasma.

The kit detects natural and recombinant human IAPP (also known as amylin, diabetes-associated peptide, insulinoma amyloid peptide, and DAP), a secreted peptide hormone studied in pancreatic beta-cell function and glucose metabolism and in the research area of cancer. IAPP selectively inhibits insulin-stimulated glucose utilization and glycogen deposition in muscle without affecting adipocyte glucose metabolism. For research use only.
