Human Iron-responsive element-binding protein 2 (IREB2) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit enables quantitative measurement of human Iron-responsive element-binding protein 2 (IREB2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is specific for natural and recombinant human IREB2.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.098ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 3.9% and an inter-assay CV of 6.8%. Average recovery is 101% (range 95-107%) for serum and 103% (range 97-109%) for plasma.

The target protein, also known as Iron regulatory protein 2 (IRP2) and IRE-BP 2 (UniProt P48200), is an RNA-binding protein that binds to iron-responsive elements in the 5'-UTR of ferritin and delta aminolevulinic acid synthase mRNAs, and in the 3'-UTR of transferrin receptor mRNA, thereby regulating iron uptake and storage. The kit is intended for research use only.
