Human Involucrin (IVL) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of human Involucrin (IVL) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Manufactured by Assay Genie, the kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for research use only.

The assay delivers a detection range of 1.25-80ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.98ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 6.2% and an inter-assay CV of 11.3%. Specificity is established against natural and recombinant human Involucrin.

Involucrin is a structural component of the insoluble cornified cell envelope of stratified squamous epithelia and is directly or indirectly cross-linked to cornifelin (CNFN). The protein localises to the cytoplasm where it contributes to the scaffolding of the cornified envelope. Abnormal levels have been associated with skin disorders such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, making the kit a useful tool in dermatology, skin biology and cancer research.
