Human Interleukin 1 Receptor Type II (IL-1R2) ELISA Kit

This research-grade immunoassay from Assay Genie quantifies human interleukin-1 receptor type II (IL-1R2) in serum samples, plasma samples, tissue homogenates, and related research specimens. IL-1R2 acts as a natural decoy receptor, sequestering IL-1α and IL-1β without triggering intracellular signaling, so soluble IL-1R2 concentrations are commonly evaluated in studies of inflammation, autoimmune disease, sepsis, and broader cytokine pathway regulation.

The procedure uses a two-antibody capture format: capture antibody pre-coated on the plate binds IL-1R2 from loaded samples, and signal is generated through biotinylated detection antibody plus streptavidin-conjugated enzyme reacting with TMB substrate. Absorbance readout yields quantitative values plotted against a standard curve prepared from recombinant IL-1R2 supplied with the kit.
