Human Interferon regulatory factor 5 (IRF5) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie using colorimetric detection for the quantitative measurement of human Interferon regulatory factor 5 (IRF5), also referred to as IRF-5. The assay is reactive with human samples and validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant human IRF5 (UniProt Q13568).

Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.082ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.8%, and an inter-assay CV of 11.2%. Linearity has been characterised for serum (100-109%, 91-101%, 92-102%, 85-96% at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16 dilutions), EDTA plasma (100-111%, 88-97%, 102-110%, 96-105%) and heparin plasma (105-117%, 105-114%, 86-95%, 113-122%). Recovery averaged 103% (range 97-109%) for serum and 105% (range 99-111%) for plasma.

IRF5 is a member of the IRF family of transcription factors and acts as a key regulator of the immune response, involved in the induction of interferons IFNA and INFB and inflammatory cytokines upon virus infection and activated by TLR7 or TLR8 signaling. The protein functions as a homodimer when phosphorylated and shuttles between the cytoplasm and the nucleus. Dysregulation of IRF5 has been linked to various autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, supporting its use as a biomarker in research. The kit is intended for research use only within the immunology field.
