Human Interferon beta/IFN beta ELISA Kit

A colorimetric immunoassay from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of Human Interferon beta in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The kit is configured as a sandwich double-antibody ELISA with reactivity restricted to human specimens.

Workflow: the supplied microplate has been pre-coated with a capture antibody specific to the target protein. Standards and appropriately diluted samples are added and incubated to allow the target analyte to bind the immobilised antibody. After washing, a biotinylated detection antibody directed to a second epitope of the target protein is added to form a sandwich complex. HRP-conjugated Streptavidin is then introduced, followed by a TMB substrate for colorimetric development. The reaction is terminated with an acidic stop solution and absorbance is read at 450 nm on a microplate reader; signal intensity is directly proportional to analyte concentration and interpolated from a standard curve. Sample preparation notes are provided for serum, plasma, tissue homogenate, cell culture supernatant and cell lysate workflows.

Performance: a sensitivity of 37.5 pg/mL and a measuring range of 62.5–4000 pg/mL (1 pg = 280 mIU). Reported linearity for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma falls between 82–105% across 1:2 to 1:8 sample dilutions, and average recovery values fall between 97% and 98%. The target is catalogued under UniProt P01574 and the kit is positioned for immunology research. Reagents are intended for storage at 2–8 °C, with light-sensitive components kept away from direct light where indicated.
