Human Interferon alpha-8 (IFNA8) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of Human Interferon alpha-8 (IFNA8) in human samples. Also known as Interferon alpha-B, Interferon alpha-B2, LeIF B, and IFN-alpha-8, this cytokine plays a role in antiviral defense and inflammation regulation and has been implicated in autoimmune diseases, viral infections, and cancer.

The kit detects natural and recombinant human Interferon alpha-8 and is intended for research use only. Reported performance includes a detection range of 7.8-500pg/mL, a sensitivity of 5.6pg/mL, intra-assay CV of 4.1%, and inter-assay CV of 7.3%. Linearity in serum (N=5) is 107-120% (1:2), 88-100% (1:4), 86-95% (1:8), and 103-112% (1:16); in EDTA plasma (N=5) 102-114%, 98-107%, 96-105%, and 107-117% across the same dilutions; and in heparin plasma (N=5) 90-100%, 111-119%, 105-117%, and 109-119%. Recovery averages 85% (range 80-91%) for serum and 87% (range 81-93%) for plasma.

Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The target protein (UniProt P32881) is a secreted cytokine of approximately 22kDa encoded on chromosome 9p21.3, produced by macrophages with antiviral activity. Research area: Immunology.
